Physiokey is termed a NIN, non-invasive interactive neurostimulator. It produces a bioadaptive impulse that delivers 100% drug free pain relief. This advanced form of Electro Physical Agent (EPA) is effective in treating a wide range of both acute and chronic conditions. It stimulates the body’s inherent mechanism for self healing, with no undesirable side effects.
Simple tried and tested Physiokey protocols...
The simplicity of this small handheld device is the tried and tested technique, SCAN, TREAT, ASSESS. The waveform is easily tolerated by all animals, stimulating the production of serotonin it creates a relaxed, pliable patient. The highly variable frequencies and waveforms, from 5-460Hz, allows an individual and specific therapy, without the risk of the patient failing to respond in longer-term treatments.
Simultaneously delivering targeted and “holistic” treatments
The Physiokey delivers both a local effect, which improves lymphatic drainage, increases circulation in our targeted area, stimulating the skin, muscle and blood vessels; and also a balancing effect in “holistic” terms by affecting the nervous and endocrine systems.
Physiokey automatically adjusts treatments...
Physiokey helps the therapist locate the target area for treatment or muscular imbalance. The SCAN process follows Physiokey protocols and the machine slows or appears to magnetically adhere to the skin in areas for optimal treatment. It has user-friendly sensor feedback with the therapist so is a natural extension for our sense of touch. The science behind it is a cutaneous impedance sensor that delivers non-invasive, computer modulated electrical stimulation via the patient’s skin and involves damped, bi-phasic, sinusoidal impulses. The device’s waveform automatically adjusts to changing tissue impedance, this allows for a higher density and amplitude of stimulation.
The Physiokey principle is to restart the healing
Physiokey therapy functions on two physiological principles, that the body has it’s own healing capabilities and that we can promote this ability to heal by stimulating the areas of the brain responsible for the regulation of ANS and homeostasis. How does it locate the optimal treatment points? By identifying areas of low skin impedance, these relate to major nerve branches, trigger points, acupuncture points and localised areas of sympathetic skin responses. This scanning methodology ensures patient-specific, multiple and varied treatment locations to elicit the most effective pain relief. It also makes the body aware of areas that may have been shut down due to chronic inflammation/pain, or compensatory issues, to restart the healing process.
The therapist’s toolbox just got smaller!
From a therapist’s point of view, the Physiokey encompasses all aspects of our treatment guidelines, from maintenance to enhancing the healing process. It treats both acute and chronic pain, increases blood flow, induces passive muscle stimulation and assists in recovery of function. It also includes a key-phoresis mode to facilitate the absorption of topical gels. Interchangeable heads make working in every area accessible.
An extension to manual therapies
Physiokey has it’s own protocols, but also works as an extension of a therapist’s manual techniques. It can be used directly over acupressure/ acupuncture points, on trigger points or along fascial lines to help in releasing the chains. No transmission gel required, our toolbox just got smaller ..... and a whole lot simpler.
